General objective
The main objective of e-SKILL is to improve construction workers’ competences, specially environmental skills, through the development of an IT-based training package and by a transnational approach, boosting a new green culture in the sector, helping standardise training and skills throughout Europe and promoting recognition of construction workers’ qualifications.
Specific objectives will be:
Technical objectives
- To develop new products and services aimed at supporting low- and non- qualified workers (identified within the qualification levels 1 and 2 of EQF) in the construction sector whose experience is based in non-formal and informal learning (mainly), in order to get recognition according to their experience and competences
- To adapt all training materials to the participating countries
- To address the training from an environmental point of view, strengthening the Green Skills.
- To use a training method based in 2.0 technologies (social www) in order to train the target groups.
- To validate the training materials in the target groups and show its usefulness and effectiveness
- To created a diploma which certifies the experience and skills acquired by the workers who have completed the training and have therefore updated their skills, including the “Green skills”, as a way to recognize their new competences
Environmental objectives
- To foster the “green thinking” and “green working” culture as a way to achieve an environmentally sustainable construction sector.
- To push for a new vision for current qualifications, promoting the inclusion of new skills related to the environment within the national qualification frameworks.
Lifelong learning objectives
- To create training material that is useful and applicable in different countries in Europe (including all those countries participating in the project), as a main way to foster the European CV (EUROPASS) and the transnational mobility.
- To provide recommendations for updating the national qualifications standards in terms of sustainable working (green skills) in the construction industry.
- To foster competence-based systems and new qualifications adapted to the job market needs
- To foster a close collaboration among the different stakeholders including industry, public bodies and trade organizations
- To develop new strategies which contribute to training and continuous professional development at work, as a means of keeping the sector competitive.
Industry-motivated objectives
- To improve the competitiveness of the sector through the improvement of its human capital.
- To foster a construction sector aligned with present and future needs and present and future policies.
- To boost employment and regulated and qualified staff.
